Sunday Tea

Last year, I was contacted by a shop owner needing an emergency supply of Teapots to Appliqué. Since the books weren’t immediately available from the distributor, she emailed asking if I could ship some in time for an event they were having that weekend.
It turned to be very easy to accomplish, since the shop, Always Quilting, was located in San Mateo, not too far from Santa Cruz. I was very excited when Kit Morse, the owner along with Julie McAuliffe, told me more about the event, a block-of-the-month club called Sunday Tea using the designs from Teapots to Appliqué.
A few months later, I visited the shop during a Sunday Tea. It was so much fun meeting the ladies who were participating in the club and seeing the lovely teapots they’d made. And of course, tea was served!
Here are the ladies and the blocks they brought in that month. I found out later that you don’t even have to live nearby to participate in this club, or any of the many block-of-the-month programs that Always Quilting offers. You can sign up over the internet and receive your materials in the mail!
Visit alwaysquiltingonline.com, click on Catalog, then Block of the Month to see all of the fabulous projects.
Always Quilting will have a booth at the Pacific international Quilt Festival, October 11-14, in Santa Clara, California. Kit and Julie have invited me to spend some time with them as a guest designer during the show. I’m really looking forward to that! PIQF has a wonderful energy. Please come by and say hello if you’re planning on attending.
